Slipcrate runs in your browser, so there's nothing to install from an app store. If you'd like one-tap access, you can add a shortcut to your home screen or dock — it takes less than a minute. Here's how on each device.

A quick, honest note: Slipcrate is a web app, not a native App Store / Play Store app (those aren't available yet). Adding it to your home screen creates a handy shortcut to the website — it still needs an internet connection, and it isn't an offline app.

iPhone & iPad (Safari)

  1. Open Safari and go to your Slipcrate URL.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow) in the toolbar.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Keep the name "Slipcrate" (or change it) and tap Add.
  5. The Slipcrate icon now sits on your home screen.

Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Chrome and go to your Slipcrate URL.
  2. Tap the menu (three dots) in the top-right.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen.
  4. Confirm, and find Slipcrate with your other apps.

Desktop (Chrome or Edge)

  1. Open Slipcrate in Chrome or Edge.
  2. Open the browser menu (three dots).
  3. Look for Save and share → Create shortcut (Chrome) or Apps → Install this site as an app (Edge).
  4. Launch Slipcrate from your desktop or app launcher.

Prefer to keep it simple? A plain bookmark works just as well.

Desktop (Safari on Mac)

  1. Open Safari and go to Slipcrate.
  2. Click File in the menu bar.
  3. Choose Add to Dock.
  4. Slipcrate now lives in your Dock for quick access.

Why a web app?

  • Nothing to download or update manually — you always get the current version when you open it.
  • Same experience everywhere — phone, tablet, and desktop share one account and one URL.
  • Easy to remove — delete the shortcut like any other, no uninstall needed.

Troubleshooting

Don't see "Add to Home Screen"? Make sure you're in Safari on iOS (not another browser) or Chrome on Android, and that the page has finished loading.

Shortcut opens the wrong page? Delete it and re-add it from the Slipcrate home screen while signed in.

Once it's on your home screen

Open Slipcrate, sign in with Google, and scan your first receipt. From there you can add warranties, keep your receipts attached, and — if you like — sync expiry reminders to Google Calendar.
